The Modèle Zazou has evolved as my version of the late series Selmer guitar of the 1940s. Named for Les Zazous, the jazz loving, zoot suited French subculture of the same time period, this guitar is an attempt to make the best sounding, best playing, best looking guitar of its type possible. Each guitar I make is a little different, here are the specs on this one:
- Lutz spruce top
- Coral rosewood laminated back and sides
- Butternut neck
- 670mm scale, 14 frets to the body
- Rosewood fingerboard
- Evo Gold frets
- Mother of pearl fret markers
- Double action truss rod
- Hand applied French Polish finish, using Royal Lac for much improved moisture resistance.
- Clear removable pickguard
- Hardshell Case
