Here’s something a little different, just finished a three brace Derecho with a Lutz spruce top and a molded arched back like an archtop guitar would have.   Very light at 3.6 pounds.   The three brace design gives up a great old school sound, very loud with bell like projection.  The snappy tone of the very light, very stiff Lutz top works well with the three brace design.  I played it on a gig last week and it performed well with just a clip on mic thanks to the way this guitar can drive it. The back is the first of the arched back project I’ve been working on.  The exterior veneer is one full width slice of mahogany.
